Saved Fragments

Saved Fragments is a series derived from La Maison, a photographic installation exploring memory, place, and the passage of time. In the original work, cyanotype prints depicting my family home at various points in its history were submerged in water-filled tanks, where they gradually faded and eventually disappeared.

The prints disappearing in water reflected the fate of my family home, a place that, for more than a hundred years, was the witness of many important event

In contrast to the prints that vanish, the Saved Fragments are prints that remained partially visible by the end of an exhibition. Removed from the tanks and left to dry, these works capture a suspended moment in the process of disappearance.

This series reflects on the fragile boundary between disappearance and remembrance. Each fragments are a small reminder of what’s left behind when a place and the stories it held, are no longer there.

Saved fragments expands the dialogue of La Maison, inviting the viewer to reflect on the way memory distorts, fades, But also survives, partial and fragile, yet still present.
